Summary
generated automatically from NVD dataPaperCut MF and PaperCut NG contain an unsafe dynamic class loading flaw (CWE-470) in their database connection utilities, which instantiate driver classes from configurable driver names without checking them against an allowlist. An attacker able to manipulate system configuration parameters could execute arbitrary Java bytecode present on the application classpath, running with the privileges of the PaperCut server process. The flaw is rated CRITICAL with a CVSS v3.1 score of 9.1 and is listed in the CISA KEV catalog.

An unsafe dynamic class loading vulnerability exists in the database connection utilities of PaperCut MF and PaperCut NG. The application instantiates database driver classes based on configurable driver names without validating against an allowlist of approved drivers. If an attacker can manipulate system configuration parameters, this enables the execution of arbitrary Java bytecode residing on the application classpath under the security context of the PaperCut server process.
