CRITICAL
9.9NVD

Summary

generated automatically from NVD data

Wasmtime versions 39.0.0 before 48.0.4 and 49.0.0 before 49.0.2 have a stack buffer overflow caused by unvalidated result types of async callbacks. A malicious guest can supply a component with mistyped component-model-async callback functions and write about 16KB onto the native stack, overwriting return addresses. This can crash the host or let the guest escape the sandbox, and the flaw is rated CRITICAL with a CVSS v3.1 score of 9.9.
